Our paths to real estate were anything but straight—through years of hard work, resilience, and leadership in different industries, we discovered the same truth: doing meaningful business is about caring for people.
Jessica: I’ve had entrepreneurial aspirations since I was a teenager, even dreaming of becoming the president of a tech company. That drive to build something of my own never left me.
Drawn to business, I began my career in retail at Home Depot and later changed to Best Buy. Over the years, I learned invaluable skills—how to communicate effectively with vendors and customers, stay organized and efficient, and, most importantly, truly listen to people’s needs and find solutions. Those lessons helped me grow into a general manager role, where I also met Rick. He had recently joined as a store manager, and while we worked side by side, our friendship grew into something much more. Before long, everyone could see we were falling in love.

When Rick became a REALTOR® in 2014, we shared a clear vision: one day, we would run our own real estate business together. He took the leap first while I stayed in retail. After nearly 20 years in the corporate world, the idea of leaving wasn’t easy, but in 2020, life gave me the nudge I needed. An injury forced me to take time off work, and during that break, I decided to finally get my real estate license.
By the time I was ready, Rick had already built a thriving business, and I was able to step in and join him. Today, I feel grateful for his effort, for the opportunity to work alongside him, and the joy of guiding people through one of the most important decisions of their lives and seeing them happy.

Rick: Starting a real estate business from scratch was challenging, but I was more than ready. Like Jessica, I had spent my early adult years in the corporate world, and I knew it was time for a change. I wanted the freedom to be my own boss, and real estate felt like the perfect path.
My nine years as a Home Depot store manager laid the foundation for that leap. Running a store taught me the skills to run a business—managing people, juggling moving parts, and making decisions with confidence. I noticed that while many leaders made choices based on emotion, I was naturally numbers-driven, able to analyze situations and act strategically. If I could run a Home Depot store, I knew I could run any business.
One of the greatest gifts of my time there was meeting Jessica. Beyond our personal connection, we also shared the same drive, mindset, and vision for the future. Tired of the corporate grind, we dreamed of building a real estate business together. I was the first to take the leap, earning my license in 2014. Those first two years were tough, but I refused to go back. I stuck it out, built momentum, and eventually brought in enough business for Jessica to join me.
Today, that dream is our reality. Life is full and meaningful—we have four kids, Rachel (30), Alyssa (27), Sierra (27), and Ricky Jr. (15), and recently welcomed our first grandson. Family time is everything to us, whether it’s enjoying live music, cheering at Ricky Jr.’s games, or supporting his school. I volunteer with high school sports, while Jessica runs the school's apparel and stays active in countless school activities.

Looking back, I’m grateful for every challenge along the way. Those experiences shaped who I am, and today I get to live the life I envisioned—working side by side with Jessica, building a business together, and helping families achieve their real estate dreams.
